THK-AI Research Cluster featured in CAIRNE October 2025 Newsletter

The THK-AI Research Cluster at TH Köln is featured in the CAIRNE October 2025 Newsletter. Recognized by the TH Köln Executive Board on January 31, 2024 for the 2024–2028 period, THK-AI serves as the university’s central hub for artificial intelligence under the guiding principle “Shaping social innovation with AI.” The cluster fosters collaboration across associations, industry partners, faculty, and students.

Led by Professors Thomas Bartz-Beielstein and Anja Richert, THK-AI advances research across machine learning, optimisation, NLP, computer vision, robotics, HMI, AI ethics, and high-performance computing. With 17 senior researchers, several postdocs, and more than 30 PhD students, the cluster contributes to impactful application areas including healthcare, industry, energy, environment, education, and public services. Highlighted activities include projects such as ShapeFuture and THKIplus.

This recognition underscores THK-AI’s role in Europe’s trustworthy AI ecosystem and its commitment to impactful, interdisciplinary AI research and innovation.
